Uniformed Organisations

We have three uniformed organisations in LUPC:

The Boys' BrigadeThe Boys’ Brigade is one of the oldest and largest youth organisations in the world.  Its object is “The advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys and the promotion of the habits of obedience, reverence, self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.”

It is open to boys aged 5 to 18+ and offers a varied programme of sports, outdoors activities, crafts, skills, community involvement, spiritual reflection and opportunities for travel in the UK and overseas.  Boys participate in the BB Awards Scheme and can opt to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

5th Livingston Company

5th Livingston Company of The Boys’ Brigade meets on Thursday nights at the Lanthorn Community Complex in Dedridge.  Boys pay an annual ‘capitation fee’ to enrol and then contribute £1 per week.

Anchor Boys (Aged 5 – P3) meet 6.30-7.45pm in the crèche.

Junior Section (P4 – P6) meet 6.30-8.15pm in the main hall.

Company Section & Seniors (P7 – Aged 18) meet 7.30-9.45pm in the upper lounge.

There is also a sports night on a Friday for Company Section and Senior boys who attended on the Thursday.

9th Livingston Company

9th Livingston Company of The Boys’ Brigade meets on Tuesday nights in Eliburn Community Wing, Peel Primary School.  Boys pay an annual ‘capitation fee’ to register then contribute £1 per week.

Anchor Boys (P2 – P3) meet 6.30-7.45pm.

Junior Section (P4 – P6) meet 6.30-8.15pm.

Company Section and Seniors (P7 – Aged 18) meet 7.30-9.45pm.

The Girls' Brigade

The Girls’ Brigade aims “to help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life.”

It is open to girls aged 5 to 18+ and offers a varied programme of sports, crafts, skills, community involvement, spiritual reflection and opportunities for excursions and leadership development.  Girls participate in the GB Awards Scheme and can opt to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

1st Livingston Company

1st Livingston Company of The Girls’ Brigade meets on Wednesday nights in the Lanthorn Community Complex, Dedridge.  Girls contribute £2 per week.

Explorers (P1 – P3) meet 6.30-7.45pm in the main hall.

Juniors (P4 – P7) meet 6.30-8pm in the main hall.

Brigaders (S1 – Aged 18) meet 7.30-9pm in the arts & crafts room.
